VERSAPRINT at the Laser Symposium Electromobility 2025

The Laser Symposium Electromobility (LSE’25) brought together experts from across the battery manufacturing and production technology sectors to explore the role of laser processes in advancing energy storage solutions. This event, organised by the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT featured presentations from leading researchers and industry players, covering topics such as:

  • Laser processes in battery production
  • Process monitoring and optimisation
  • Innovative materials and solid-state battery developments

At the heart of this cutting-edge event, our partner Dr. Johanna Helm from FEV Europe GmbH took the stage to present VERSAPRINT – Improving safety, performance, recyclability, and CO₂ footprint of battery packs in automotive engineering.

It was very special for me to give the LSE’25 participants, who were gathered from all areas of battery manufacturing and production technology, an insight into VERSAPRINT,” Johanna shared. “The audience asked many interesting questions, and if our project were to be continued in a further funding phase, there would certainly be interested partners who would like to develop the concept ideas further.

Johanna’s presentation highlighted key advancements from project partners LEITAT, CEA, and the WZL at RWTH Aachen University, demonstrating how their innovations are shaping the future of battery manufacturing. “These developed BBs are also particularly important for FEV, as we will now integrate them into our pack concept,” she explained.

The session reinforced the growing interest in safe, high-performance, and sustainable battery solutions, while also positioning VERSAPRINT as a key player in next-generation battery technology.

Stay tuned for more insights as we continue to drive innovation in battery design and manufacturing!
